We welcome you in the name of Jesus Christ to the Official Website of Hebron Assemblies of God Church Konniyoor ! ! !

Hebron Assemblies of God Church, Konniyoor is a Part of Malayalam District Council of the South India Assemblies of God (AGMDC). It is in Thiruvananthapuram, Kattakada Section of Dakshina Mekhala (Southern Region) in A G Malayalam District Council.

The Church started as a small fellowship pioneered by Pastor C Manasseh, in the year 1921. Established a century ago in the eternal decree of the Great God, in His eternal love and infinite grace. The history of the Assemblies of God Hebron Church Konniyoor, which is now celebrating its centenary under his stewardship, is a history of growth from darkness to miraculous light.

In the same year the triumphant revival of the Pentecostal movement hit the world across it reached here in the shores of southern Kerala. It is in God's eternal love and immeasurable grace that Pastor C. Manasseh was filled with the anointing of baptism of Holy Spirit, founded Kuzhithakidi AG Church.

On September 13, 1921, after he was filled with the Holy Spirit, he led his elder brother Daveed and family, who were members of the Konniyoor LMS church to salvation. As they had no other place to worship, they started a fellowship in the Veranda of his older brother Daveed's house as early as 1921. This marks the beginning of Konniyoor Church. In a short span of time Daveed’s wife Arulayi, their sons Lazar and Joshua and their daughter Jnanamuthu were baptized by the hands of Pastor C. Manasseh. This is the first baptism in Kuzhithakidi Church.

Since 1922, though Pastor C. Manasseh’s wife Sheelal, a teacher, did church ministry at Melpuram( Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu). It was Pr. C. Manasseh who was took the leadership of the church at Kuzhithakidi. His orderly teaching of the Word and his emphasis on God-reliance led Daveed's sons, D. Lazar and D. Joshua, to be spiritual strengthened and be able to coordinate fellowships in the absence of Pastor C. Manasseh. In 1926 Pastor C. Manasseh's ministry was further expanded and his elder brother David's eldest son D Lazar was entrusted with the Kuzhithakidi Church. Meanwhile Pastor Manasseh had to supervise other churches started as a result of his efforts and other public ministry. At this time the younger brother of the evangelist Lazar, D Joshua was of great help in ministry. After 1926, Pastor C. Manasseh only came to Kuzhithakidi for ceremonial ministry such as baby dedication, baptism, funeral service and so on.

The fellowship that began on the porch of Daveed's house a few days later moved to the shed on 10 cents of land he had donated to the organization. Records say Mary Chapman, the AG's first missionary, worshiped in this shed. Thereafter a church hall 40 feet long and 20 feet wide was built and Pastor C Manasseh inaugurated the facility for God’s glory at Kuzhithakidi. This congregation hall was thatched buildings with two rooms were made for the missionaries to stay in it.

In 1967, 21 cents of land was purchased at Undappara where the Church Hall is now located. A 40-feet long and 20-feet wide congregation hall was built in it. The Church was dedicated by Missionary Rev. Ernest A. Sorbo on 1968 A parsonage was also built where the parsonage now stands. God gave the growth and church began to grow. As the place of worship was full, a new church facility was thought of and work started. In 1998 Pastor TJ Samuel dedicated the church hall 100 feet long and 34 feet wide and parsonage. A hall was built on top of this for Sunday school class teaching and meal preparation and a separate kitchen was completed in 2011. 23 pastors have served as church ministers since Pastor C Manasseh. In 2021, the centenary year could not be celebrated due to COVID-19 however, AG Konniyoor is preparing to celebrate the centenary from 21st to 28th May 2023 with various programs.

At present Pastor Biju Danam is ministering here.
